Hubie Halloween follows Hubie Dubois, a kind-hearted but frequently mocked Salem resident who takes Halloween safety very seriously. When a criminal escapes and mysterious disappearances begin during the town’s Halloween festivities, Hubie tries to convince the police and local residents that something dangerous is happening. He eventually becomes the unlikely person responsible for protecting Salem.
The production used real Massachusetts locations to recreate the fictionalized Halloween version of Salem. The Salem Witch Museum and Salem Common are among the best-known locations associated with the movie. Salem’s downtown streets also feature prominently in the town scenes.
In Marblehead, the production used The Hotel Marblehead as a haunted-house location and filmed around Washington Street. The Massachusetts Film Office reported that crews also filmed a haunted-house sequence at the former Cardinal Richard Cushing villa at 190 Western Avenue in Gloucester. The Mendon Twin Drive-In was used for the drive-in sequence.
The Massachusetts Film Office lists 12 filming communities: Beverly, Canton, Chelsea, Danvers, Gloucester, Ipswich, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Mendon, Milton, Salem and Tewksbury. For towns where a specific filming address could not be confirmed, the CSV uses general town-center coordinates rather than claiming an exact scene location.
